different folk, different strokes
it’s never the same as the next person’s
“different folk, different strokes”
This came to me while i was at my primary place of assignment. Yes, i’m currently serving in Ibadan, in a school but hey, we will get to that later.
I was supervising a class for their C.A Test and i realized something, they all used a pen, they all grab a pen and put it on paper but at the end of the day, the output is a different handwriting and different formulation of words.
You could grab your pen in the same way as the person beside you and the result would still be different.
Really, that’s what it is, different folk, different strokes. You could work as hard, even twice as hard as the next person and you both get different results.
It’s not your fault, it’s how life is wired. Different people, different skin tones, different languages, different strokes, different folks.
Your journey is not the same as the person next door.
From someone that actively overthinks and liken her journey to others, this sounds hypocritical but it’s a reality i have to accept as well.
Let me share my story, I can proudly say i have been unlucky when it comes to finding a romantic partner and i have watched my friends go on to find their better half’s, get married, I have even been a matchmaker but hey, look at Riah that puts in all the effort gets the bottom of the man pot. It has made me hold a lot of resentment and jealousy towards God and the people near me because why can’t i have half of what they have? right? just a quarter.
You just have to make peace with it and realize that different folks, different strokes and it’s not really not your fault even if you work twice as hard and life does not reward you in the way you want.
It’s wrong, it’s unfair, you feel cheated, I get it. I have been there and to be very frank with you, I am still there but one thing, i will leave with you today is, don’t give up, don’t stop your motion.
As NoteSphere says, “Don’t stop Creating” and creating does not have to be artsy or intellectual alone, a single motion you make to better yourself is also creative.
Keep your pen on the paper, your time will come and when you hit that stroke, it will all make sense.
Riah loves you.
